- Hello, welcome to my oil painting blog. I don't think I can remember a time when I didn't have a pencil or paint brush in hand, sketching or painting, or even doodling a portrait. I've always felt something was missing in my life if I didn't have an art project in the works. So here I go again, creating a showcase just for you. I pay tribute to my beloved art teacher, Margaret Hunter, from Indio, California. At the age of eighty, Margaret taught me a lot about oil painting in the small living room of her mobile home. She became my teacher and my inspiration for a few wonderful years late in her life. Thank you for reading a little about me. My very best to you, Marlene Cronkhite
